Wood County is South of Toledo. The county seat is Bowling Green - home of Bowling Green State University. Wood county is also the center of 'The Great Black Swamp.' The area was mostly wooded swampland as recently as the early 1900's. The swamp has been drained, trees cleared, and is now very rich farmland.
